Then later this afternoon, some of the mob came in the garage after her food and someone splatted on the garage floor. 
As I was cleaning it up I noticed.... tape worm segments. 
Old hen got wormed tonight. Rest of them will get it tomorrow since it took me for fargin ever to figure the proper dosage... got to do it by the bird's weight. lb changed to kg and how many mg needed for each kg and how many mg in a ml to figure how many tenths of ml to give the poor bird. Not usually a problem for me to figure doses, but hopelessly slow on 3 hrs sleep. AND then OF COURSE my scale had dead batteries... go dig up some new ones, but they are the wrong size OF COURSE. Too thin so hubs says stick a dime between them but it didn't work 
because I had the button batteries in upside down OF COURSE. sigh Poor girl only weighed 3 lbs.

I have been messing with my sick old hen. Surprising how one hen can use up so much of your day. Fed her some crumble (meh), kale (chomp chomp chomp), and Quaker oats (NOM NOM!) and she seemed a little better. She came outside with me to water and keeled over in the sun. I thought she was dying, but she was just sunning.
Hopefully I will get some sleep tonight. The breeze has picked up so it's cooling off a bit. hooray!

Her baby quail are in the house because they are in a brooder, or under lights.
