Benny, I love kingfishers. My favorite! We have plainer ones here. Belted Kingfisher, female. The males don't have the rust color. I haven't seen one in ages (13 years ago in October on my wedding day, to be exact!)
There is a large dying pine tree right outside, and the woodpeckers have been going to town on it! My hubs got some good shots of our local pileated woodpecker, but I haven't loaded them on the computer, so can't share right now. They are quite large birds...
