Granny's gone and done it again

One of the Speckled Sussex got outside the fenced in chicken yard today. Probably the one i saw on top of the roof. Any way, she was loose all day and she laid an egg in the barn on a nest she made of hay in there. What a cute surprise! I knew right away i don't have any Cadbury rabbits!

average is 2 calves every 3 years and up into their 20's with luck and proper care
or at least that's what the average used to be. I know one gal who's 25 year old cow just had her 2o something calf.
And my Star has calved 5 times in a row.

:yesss::woot :thumbsup That is terrific! How far is it?

they are pretty much due east of Castle Rock, CO so 600 ish miles. Planning on doing it the first part of Oct. Seems to be when I do all of my yak buying/trading

Will drive straight thru and the get a motel room and then load the "girls" and drive straight back.

Ahahahaha. That’s a sussex move alright!

Well. i confess. I tucked buffy in tonight and then she decided she didn’t want to be in bed yet. So hopped back down. Too bad chicken. Tuck yourself back in. I’m a horrible chicken mama. That and they were in their coop all day til hubs came home and let them into the run (I’m hoping the hawk moves on...) but at least they got some real free range time tonight too.
