My mom would use those for her emergency/survival supply storage. This past summer I found 20 lbs of dried beans and 25lbs of rice in a barrel in the barn along with extra clothes and blankets. Beans and rice were dated 1998. They still LOOKED good.

But they are taking care of us!

Good idea Wishing ! I will need to buy him one. The only one I have is from Shell Shocked and he isnt getting that ! I imagine beens are still good . They dont really go bad. I bet that was a cool find

LOL and they probably still were. I would have cooked it all up in the lard kettle with the chicken dunking water and all the chicken bits we didn't want ie...heads, feet, innards and then feed it back to the chickens. I know mine will love the trimmings and bones from the pigs. Extra protein in the winter is a good thing. AND FREE

Has anyone heard from lindalouly?? I got a card, but otherwise the girl is MIA. Did you ever see Overboard, with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn? I love it when the boys decide to go get their mom! I feel like doing that for Linda. Call out the coast guard!!
