Chain link dog run, chicken wire skirt 2 ft out and 2 up. She is flying up past the chicken wire and slipping out the chain link.
In the back yard a whole side of lattice is down . Wood rotted. Bandit or any of the others are free to walk out. Only Bandit does. PITA

Morning, Enola is the bomb. True friend there to help you cut through a carcass . I also have plastic lattice that is down and needs zip tied today. Lots of roads flooded. Friendship flea market this week closed , People missing. washed don the river maybe

Well. One confirmed cockerel. My buckeye started crowing this morning.

The brooder is in the garage so on the other side of the wall from hubs’ and my bed. I hear crowing think hmm. That’s a derpy crow...oh crap. Go out in the garage watch them a bit and sure enough. It’s the Buckeye.

So out of my batch of four, ONLY ONE BEING STRAIGHT RUN MIND YOU I have one confirmed cockerel, two suspected cockerels (the straight run Lorp and the California white with the big comb!) and my Easter egger whom I refuse to guess cause I remember I was convinced Sam was a he until I saw baby blue eggs!

So go back in the house, hubs is awake. “Why is that rooster crowing so loud?”
(Me) uhhh....cause it’s one of ours.
(Hubs) what?
(Me) it’s the Buckeye
(Hubs) great.

Have not told him about my other roo suspicions. I may just let them grow, see who’s less a jerk and freezer camp the rest.

Sad to hear lady has left the building. Hugs granny. People come and go. It’s the way of life.

Bummer about the Buckeye, but not surprised. Holding out hope for the others. I think with the big combs, wattle development counts. A big comb with no wattles could still be a pullet.

I can get out and to the stores but my road in friendship about 4 miles away is where people are stranded between 2 different places under water.

68.4° today. Overcast and occasional drizzle. A nice day if i felt well. Lots to get done. Not sure what to work on first!
Hubby put a bunch of quail eggs outside and i caught the dog eating them. Ugh.i feed her an egg daily, but i guess raw ones are more yummy than cooked ones.
I guess i will go back out. Bbl.

She was probably Binks' meal last night.

ahh, I have heard that before. One person dogs. Thats the cocker supposedly I got lucky w/ my Star. I wish I could clone her.

Then I could have one too!

Seems like i lost another adult guinea. Down to 9 now. Or else its a hen that decided to stay on the nest.
Feel like i am coming down with something, sore throat and feeling off. One of the worker guys is sick so i guess that is where it came from. Thanks a million.

Blanket is very cute! Do you put something between the layers?
I would like to see updated chick pics. If one is going to be a male, Buckeye is good. They aren't supposed to be super layers.
