Yep they do. Seems to happen mostly when one runs too close to another and startles it. That one thinks it is being attacked and they both go on offense for about a second. Then they figure out is is just one of their flock mates and go about their business.

Have you seen hens do that ? Mine do sometimes. Raise their hackles up , the works.

Yep, though it is mostly with the littles. They are all full of piss and vinegar running and flapping here and there. Accidentally run over another and the "fight" is on. The older girls only run if they think there is some food treat to be had so they don't startle each other as much.
 
Not sure what the regulations are on that. Problem with selling eggs, we are out in the middle of no where. Not going to deliver them. So i really only sell eggs at swaps.
what if you could sell quail and chicken eggs to a mom and pop restaurant ? I bet they go through a lot at a time.
