Granny's gone and done it again

Picked up something too heavy with one hand twisted, off balance and moving forward. Squished a disc based on symptoms.
Ow, hubby had one give way in his neck. Had to have emergency surgery because he was losing the use of his left arm. Now he has a titanium plate in his neck.

ugh, that must have been terrible.
My girlfriend had to have back surgery for the same reason. She was only in her mid 40s and has permanent loss of feeling in one foot. Waited too long on the surgery.

it pinched a nerve. ouchy. Tom has that in his neck and pretty common to lose feeling from a collapsed disk because of all the nerves running through there.

Of course not.
I haven't had too much trouble with it over the years... no backpacking, couldn't use a carrier with the babies, stuff like that. Had to be careful, would get the occasional twinge, but stayed fit playing a lot of tennis. Wasn't until the last 10 yrs or so that I have more trouble. Am not going to pay a dr to tell me what I already know... too fat and out of shape.
You know what kills me? I am fat and out of shape and the clearance racks have size 4. So all the big sizes get bought up. I mean really, who is size 4 that is not anorexic?

I nagged him mercilessly to get him to go to hospital.
