except I can actually sell for MONEY eggs. not so much with the yaks yet.

Talked to CB today and he said he is coming over friday to stay the weekend. Im pretty excited . Roberts Bday thursday and swap sat. but its supposed to rain.

Hubby cut up the part of the tree that was hanging over my path to the hoop coop. Then he tossed it off the path, which hurt his wrist. Idk why he doesn't stop if it hurts!

Granny the chickens alone were going thru 225 to 250 dollars a month in layer since I ran out of oats. And that wasn't counting the 70 plus chicks or the ducks.

I think I go through 3 bags of layer/mash and one corn.

There is a place in Danville that sells it cheaper. I may get some oats. These birds eat like horses!

when I have oats the hens are actually pretty close to breaking even in egg sales and that's not counting what we all eat and then of course the butcher birds and stewing hens.

"feed" oats is usually cheaper then the "cleaned" stuff and may have some other grain or bugs (dead) and weed seed mixed in with the oats. This year there was corn in mine . Last time LOTS of dried grass hoppers.

I remember when I was little I raised bantams and they free ranged. I would throw them a little handful of corn down maybe once every 3 days . Times sure have changed
