she used the flower and I THINK just parts of it but not sure. I went over there the next spring when they were blooming and a different woman met me at the door. She had died and been replaced already.

Interesting, mine tend to go all passive when they moult, even the normally dominant ones. They separate from the flock when they are out ranging.

That's part of "cranky." They don't want to be touched and don't want anyone near them.
