I know you have plenty of emotional support for a kid! But ... it seems to me like you often have enough trouble getting to appointments or out to get prescriptions and such that you would find it difficult to deal with the transportation needs of a child. What if he got sick and needed to go to a doctor? Or had school events a parent would attend? Or just needed to go to buy some new pants because he outgrew the ones you bought him last month?
Most of that sounds like stuff I have to do already. I went to the parent functions w/ the GKs. I didnt like it but I went. He would get medical insurance. I wouldnt get cash or food stamps . It would be an extra expense unless I want to go to classes and be a reg. foster. Its not needed unless you want to be paid. They never reimbursed me for all I spent for the boys.
