If you are storing pop and kitchen stuff in there, why not keep it in the kitchen? It will hold up the counter top too.

The dishwasher shouldn't have ANY role in supporting the counter top. It is screwed TO the countertop to keep it from tipping when you pull out full drawers.

Bruce, It has to be 2 fold. Just a counter top sticking out w/ no support except where it attaches to the sink and possibly wall although I doubt that is going to snap as soon as any weight is put on it. The longer the piece the more likely it is to go.

Aint no way on Gods green earth would I step foot on that thing. In KY , same guy whos turkey chased me , The only way to get to his house was an old swinging bridge . I was absolutely terrified
