Robert and I were talking yesterday and it could be a small calf crop next year.

As Star has calved 5 times in a row, Comet 4 times so both are sort of due a year "off"
Then there are the 2 old broads, 19 and Janet. Maiah and Granny have both gone 2 in a row and the 3 new girls I have no idea. Plus Hailey is joining the main herd really late in the "season."

Brought home VERY green bananas yesterday, Robert looked at them and said "WOW aren't you confident that you will be around by the time their ripe"

not yet he has to send the blood samples off for testing.

He was pretty sure there are no issues BUT recommended I don't add them to the main herd yet JUST in case. As ND gets REALLY REALLY ANAL about this and should one test positive that is pretty much a death sentence along with any and ALL others that have been kept with it.

techinally if Janet is open again this year she should be going to freezer camp BUT I so want a calf out of her that she may get a "stay of execution" which will also depend on the pasture situation next year.
