Well, the Ice storm hit here and my power was knocked out for 58 hours. Lost Thanksgiving dinner due to it being in the fridge. Did manage to get a friend to take me to the store last night so I could get replacements.

refrigerators have a 4 hour safe to eat power loss. Anything over 4 hours means it is a loss. I had bread dough that about exploded in the fridge. I had pulled it out to bake and it spent it rose to the point it was a good gauge as to how warm the fridge got.

Freezers we lucked out and they are estimated at 48 hours if full. After the power came on I waited 20 minutes and opened everything was rock hard. So it was all safe.

Funny I lost every thing in my deep freeze but fridge was good. Milk stayed cold. I guess thats why I didnt even think about the deep freeze or I would of took that stuff outside.

I just got back from wal mart. I really hate that place. I got about 2-3 chicken breasts for dumplins and stuff to make dream pie. That will be our thanksgiving dinner. pk of chicken was $6.00 . Its going to take a few months to get my freezer full again.

Sicker than a dog today. Trying my luck in holding down vitamin water - wish me luck. Sucks cause I needed to do so much camper prep for thanksgiving. Got hubs to eventually help me with some stuff.
