OH YEAH! First time my younger sister and I tried to make gravy it was Thanksgiving at her and her husband's house in MA 39 years ago. We didn't have the benefit of having helped Mom make it before. Kept adding flour to the pan drippings and stock and stirring. Waiting for it to thicken up. Made great glue, could have put up wall paper. THEN I asked my Mom or older sister, don't recall which, how to make gravy. Been making good gravy ever since.

Um, no, it is THE staple. I use it WAY more than any spice or herb I have in the cabinet.


Makes it easier to peel. Cut the bottom off where it was attached to the rest of the head, put it on the counter and using a broad blade knife flat side down on the clove then whack the side of the knife with the heel of your hand. Then the peel is easy to get off. At least that is how I do it.


Sit in the chair with a cat in your lap! In our house, the phrase is "I can't, I have a cat in my lap".


I believe you are going on a world cruise and won't have time to do all that work for them. I'm guessing you don't consider the uncle's wife your aunt. My aunt and uncle are fabulous people. I'm not even going to tell you which is a blood relative because far as I'm concerned they both might as well be.

I don’t really know her. I met her for the first time last Christmas when it was sprung on us that they were engaged. We didn’t know he was dating. They married in May and expected everyone to fly out to California for the wedding. Then after people bought tickets they were uninvited. Then a week before the wedding certain ones were reinvited. And then the punch was that the best man was the brides brother. So my other uncles were upset. It’s really a hot mess.
I don’t like change. And I really don’t like being told what to do. Put that together and it’s hard for me to adjust.
Especially all the touchy feely crap that she does.

I drove myself to the ER, no point hubby sitting around too. So they are giving me rx for muscle relaxer and lortab. But they don't do MRI and they said an xray of my neck wouldn't show anything. Sigh.

So are they scheduling you for a MRI?

Invite and EXPECT people to spend many hundreds of $$ each to fly to their wedding? Right, here have a nice card. DD's cousin's son and fiancee decided to get married in Bermuda, they lived in Boston. No, we didn't go and I thought it was kind of a way to NOT have many people there. Probably had a JP wedding in MA just for the USA legal part.

They live in CA? And they expect YOU to do all the Christmas arranging stuff and go to their place? Or do they expect you to do it all at your house and they are just going to show up and be entertained?

Really sorry you are hurting so badly. I wouldn't expect the ER to do MRI's. They are usually more like triage, fix what they can and move you on. Did they at least give you some more PPs?

Goodnight h2o. My brother brought me a sinus rinse kit. I haven't tried it yet.

When I am choking on my own snot I bought a neti pot. It is very weird feeling to put water up your nose but once you get the hang of it it great. You have to lean over a sink and hold your head sideways. I should do it now because I still have some congestion, like I am having allergies

We have a commercial farm policy. Apparently, somebody had fed the food to their livestock and the livestock got ill and died. This way my company avoided that claim.
