It depends on what's causing the pinch. Lot of time swelling is the culprit, and you get into the pain, muscle spasm, swelling cycle. Break the cycle, and you can recover without surgery. Hubs is poster boy for someone who was completely debilitated by severe neck pain from a squashed disc (diagnosed with MRI). He got steroid shots and prescription doses of ibuprofen (advil), bed rest (he spent the better part of 2 months on bed rest), ice packs alternated with heat, and eventually some PT exercises. It took about 6 months for him to be pain free, but he avoided surgery. All this was through the best sports medicine doctor in town. It can be done, but you have to know what the problem is.Wishing, Nothing helps pinched nerves. Not PT, MRI or most the time even PPs. Just helps take the edge off.
You need someone else Cap. I would wonder if you called your primary dr. and explain the BP is really bothering you and you were not satisfied with this dr. today if you might get better help. Everyone is entitled to a 2nd opinion . Its the law.
Lovely! What kind of tree is that? We don't see those here.Hope this brightens our evenings. Maybe I’ll have an eggnog with a nip of rum.

I believe it was "ruptured" whatever that means. Don't want to ask because then he'll know I'm talking about him.But his was a collapsed disk ?
Not broken. He was lifting extremely heavy loads in a wheelbarrow. Disc right where the shoulders connect in was messed up after hours of this. How did he break his neck Wishing ?
