I always fed baby goats every 2 hours during my waking hours, once during the night.Instead of feeding 2-3 bottles a day, I’m trying to mimic mama and feed little snacks (1-1.5 pints) every few hours. I’ve read studies from dairy farms about how more frequent feedings keep the abomasum (fourth stomach) more active, and creates better animals long term. Cattle people always talk about the big round grass bellies on last year’s calves, so I’m trying to get away from that. I want her to have pretty lines.
