Granny's gone and done it again

I made bread once. It took FOREVER .

mom used to make her own until the frozen loaves of bread dough cam out and they she went to those.   We used to have jack-in-a-pinch or doughgots occasionally  :drool

OMG "doughgods" my husband family is the only people I ever heard use as a description.

used in the northwest corner of ND (scandinavian side)  as well   and in the SE corner  Jack-in-a-pinch  (german side)
My mom & my MIL coated them with cinnamon & sugar. MIL took it a step farther & served them with stewed tomatoes for dipping :drool

with us it was butter and then jelly/jam or honey if so desired or for the desert pieces.

You can't beat a slice of GOOD baked bread right out of the oven with lots of real butter slathered on. The multi grain bread I made yesterday was very yummy with the soup.

that looked really good.
It was the first time I made it. Have made a similar recipe of multi-grain dinner rolls that I made at Thanksgiving. Got the recipe for both from the King Arthur flour site.
