Granny's gone and done it again

Oh, and I have a Serama hen isolated in the garage. She is also having seizures and one of the other hens beat the crud out of her, bloody missing comb. This hen has been slowing down the past few weeks, so I knew something was wrong. I didn't want to mess with her because she has always been very standoffish... hates being handled and freaks out (we call her Pisspot), so I didn't want to cause more stress for her. Don't know if the seizures came first or the beating caused them. Didn't think the others would try to kill her. Birds are brutal.

Chicory, Pisspot, and Scooter... bad news in threes?
Yikes, chickens do act like dinosaurs at times. Hope she will recover for you. Added protein might help, plus vitamins, electrolytes and added warmth.

NICE camp!!

I’m debating while hubs is working on his tranny this weekend sneaking down the hill to Home Depot and filling the truck ;)

SHHH!!! YOU DIDNT SEE ANYTHING!!

I kinda want to add a fig tree to the run area. More chicken treats and extra bonus of shade. Also debating a California people tree. Jesse hates em (they’re “dirty” trees) but I like em and besides. Chickens like extra litter to scratch through and collect bugs.

Wow. Just noticed Siri corrected my pepper tree to a people tree. Creepy.

Meah I just want a nice shady forest back there lol. Shelter from the raptors and such. Though we do currently have an owl living in one of the eucalyptuses back there...

So many plots, so little time and money.

My fav chicken customer has two big fig trees on either side of his chicken run. I think it’s a great idea.

This chicken is Bud. If it sees me (or anyone) it runs over and stands by your feet until you pic it up and tote it around. Pure RIR. I was thinking cockerel, but they’re at that weird age now where I can’t tell. Could be a less dominant roo, or an early-blooming hen. I’m waiting for feathers.

I've never had a rir cockerel but I've had a few hens and they looked just like yours.
