Granny's gone and done it again

Are you done with ducks? Just making do with what you have? Did you ever eat one? Muscovy is supposed to be close to beef in flavor.

I have 3 in the freezer and at least 4 more to "process" I plan on letting the 2 hens set on any eggs they want to. I can affirm that they are GREAT bug and fly eaters.

the scovies are "funny" looking or body shaped once you pluck them.

Best way to describe it is picture Dolly Parton sized breasts on an famine victim
NO meat on the backs or wings at all. I was shocked.

and I think last Monday we were 80*
Been some wild weather lately.

I have a ton of flies around here. Muscovy would come in handy. Have to weight their ability to eat flies vs how many they will attract with their super duck poop. :sick

BUT they would catch/eat those as well

Scooter had a second seizure at 8 this morning. It wasn't as long as the first, under a minute, but after, he started coughing, more coughing than the first time earlier. This time he coughed up bloody mucus. :hmm

So, off to the emergency vet. They don't know what is causing the seizures, tested normal for all the tests they did (blood and xrays). Neurologist said it could be brain tumors or meningitis (brain swelling) or even epilepsy, but that is unlikely due to the late onset. (Scooter is over 9yrs) The bloody mucus was from pulmonary edema, caused by the seizures. He was coughing while I talked with the neuro dr, and even obliged the man by hacking up a little blob of pink bloodiness. They kept him for treatment overnight. He was in an oxygen tent when I left since his respiration was high. They are giving him meds for both the edema and the seizures, and they are also starting him on antibiotics since he's at high risk of pneumonia and there was a little shadow on the xray. They want him to be stable before he comes home. Vet wasn't sure he'd survive another seizure without oxygen support, so treating the lung edema is the priority. I should get him back tomorrow.

So sorry wishing. :hugs

Rosie tried to kill Yertle tonight. I’m done with her. This is the 2nd time. I had to hit her in the face so she’d let go of his neck! Then she went back at him! So she’s in a time out bucket and I’m cooling down so I don’t kill her. What a day.
And they're not even married!:gig i hope he is ok!:fl
