Granny's gone and done it again

I blocked it with a nest box and another piece of wood, tomorrow i will cut a piece of wood to fix that! Don't want any more injuries!
I'm glad you found the baby before it was killed. You'd think the little ones would stay close to mama where it's safe!

Thanks camping. He's home now. Anti seizure meds are making him sleepy and klutzy. That's supposed to go away when he gets used to them. Still having breathing problems, but he's mending. They want an xray to recheck his lungs on Tues. Hope the fluid is gone by then.

Lucky you, all that sleep. You were here when I got on, but I guess the sandman got you before I was done catching up.
I always say you could be a dr with all your medical experience and knowledge... but maybe a veterinarian would be better! :D
Scooter's problem has been known for some time, but I think the treatments were not so available 20-30 years ago. Americans spend billions of dollars a year on their pets, and much of that supports better medical research and care. This summary of a study has 4 dogs that got edema from seizures. They knew about it back in the late 80s-early 90s.

Hoping for a great outcome for him. Hugs for you.

Thanks Cap. All the vets and techs loved him... he was so cheerful and happy to see people even when he was so sick. He's a sweet dog and I'm glad he's still with us.

I guess they are too brave for their own good!
Brave? ... or, maybe just a little bit, not too smart?

I just took 21 quail out of the incubator, gave them a drink and scattered food. I crammed in so many eggs, there were three layers. Much better now, i took out all the empty shells and added more water.
Whoa! You just changed your avatar... I almost didn't recognize you! :D
I just noticed today, my bearded iris are going to bloom in a day or two. :wee Mostly purple ones.

Well, they are pretty new to the world, so maybe inexperienced. Have not learned to run like rabbits yet! And maybe a bit of a dumb bunny!

This is my first iris bloom this spring! I tried to change my signature 3x and it wouldn't work. :rant

I was thinking, in the wild, a little one that crawled away from mama would probably get eaten and its genes removed from the gene pool. Same with bad baby eating mamas, no babies to continue the line. I wonder if wild bunny mamas ever do that... or do it as much. Seems like there is a learning curve for some of them.

Well their eyes are open, so maybe they start leaving the nest to eat. Idk what age wild bunnies do that. I have had mothers kill babies their first delivery and then do fine after that. Maybe the pain of stretching for delivery? Second delivery, already stretched out. If they kill another litter, they go.
I need to get some sleep. Good night friends!
