OF course I was down to 2 hens and 6 drakes this spring and am now over 40 with another nest on the way.

WOW ! I hope they make it thru the winter. Not that your gonna eat them. hahaha

most of the older drakes are "going" when we butcher chickens some time yet this fall.

A few times. We had a friends who did 50 meaties at a time, and I helped him once. And I grew up processing the wild game I killed. I don’t like it, but I’m able to. It’s better than getting $2 at the auction.

The botulism last year took out most of my lings. The three hens were all broody, but never managed to hatch anything.

when this last batch hatches, it will mean both hens had 2 broods each this year.
