that's wayyyyyy past weaning. Usually by 8 weeks but after 3weeks. They get too big and it can be tough to get a band in place. Plus they become interested and will try to breed their mom and sister. Bucky was that age when I brought him home. He was all over the other goats.
I thought so, too, but when I looked it up they all seemed to agree. It was something about growth and complications, I can’t remember. It was about 12 weeks when I did Beaux, I kept putting it off because I was scared. I can’t remember when I did Roxie’s buck, I think it was probably around 8.
