Toms SIL just found a new job he thinks he will be happier at with a $3.00 an hr pay cut. I guess its nice to be happy doing your job, It makes the day go faster but we,as an older generation didnt go to work to decide if we were happy. We were lucky to find a min wage job so we could feed our family. The rest of it wasnt important.

edit. He knows this. I’ve made it starkly clear to him...which could be part of his mind cluster. He’s also half debating doing his own thing - he’s got the connections with existing clients already. I’d just need to look into how we’d go with that. May be tricky without financial backing - and I’d expect some lean times ahead if he does do that.

Depends on the person and the job, I think. For example, teaching was NOT for me. Sure, I could cope and do a decent job at it, but the toll was not worth the effort or the money.
