I have contacted J & J Hazen Meats, 701-748-5600, Hazen, ND. 58545, [email protected] , again, and again have not received a return call from Justin, the owner and manager of J & J. I believe this is what happened the first time around as well. I need to be able to rely on good communications from potential processors, so processing and shipping coordination can take place without problems.
Good news: I just got a return call from Justin tonight, and confirmed that he does yaks under USDA inspection, and can do the main requests I am asking for. I am emailing him my detailed processing specs, and he will confirm tomorrow that he can do what I need. I don't think there will be any problems.
Justin says the first he can get your yaks in would be January 30th. He is super busy.
If all goes well, I will let you coordinate with him on the delivery of your yaks to him. I will pay you immediately on receiving the scale weights of your trailer loaded and empty for a net weight for the 2 yak bulls at $1.25/pound on the hoof. I will then pay him for processing and pay the freight company to get the meat from him to me.
Hopefully this will all work out for both of us.
Sorry for the delays. I think we are on our way to a good result.
