What about the little song birds ? They love thistle.

We don't have a huge variety here, rarely goldfinches that like thistle. We get cute little kinglets and flycatchers and the occasional wren. Towhees don't give a fig about jays, and hang out around the house. My favorite visitor this time of year is hermit thrush... speaks to my hermit heart!

They have the most delicate looking long legs.

Not sure if you have them. Goldfinch look chunky compared to hermit thrush! That's cause they are little piggy thistle seed gobblers.
