Granny's gone and done it again

Dont sound right for silkies. Arent they normally gentle ?
Hormones... can't live with 'em. Can't live without 'em.

Actually, I think a docile bird is an anomaly. Birds are what's left of the dinosaurs. They are survivors, vicious and brutal at times. Even the smallest little hummingbird is sassy and aggressive, ferociously guarding its territory. Our chickens have been purposefully created. Without the careful breeding, it only takes a few generations for them to resort back to the wild beasts that were their dinosaur ancestors.
Watch you backs, everyone! :D

So the doctor never called anything in for me. Now I have to call the office at 8 am to try and get fit in for an appointment.
What a pain! Especially when you are having pain. :hmm Hope they can fit you in.

Well, yall know I put that little splash of silkie in some of them. I could tell them apart from the extra toe but even that was getting bred out of them. You couldnt tell they had a drop of silkie blood in them after a while. I did that for their broodiness and hardiness. It worked. I have a picture of 3 broody hens sitting eggs when my coop was attacked . Not the first one of them moved off their eggs and next morning one had hatched 3 littles. I gave those away w/ the few I had left.
I havent talked a lot about that day but I was in shock no doubt. Seeing that broody w/ her babies poking their little heads out while right next to her on the ladder was a wing of another stuck and ripped off. It was about more then I could bare. After I found someone to come dig a hole and rake all the parts up I went out there and just stood for hours tears streaming down my face. I watched him do everything never moving from my spot. I remember paying the man and him taking me by my arm leading me into the house. The next few days after that was /is a blur. I can still barely talk about it.

What a horrible memory.

evening all, evidently I have managed to "catch" something I was so cold and shivering that I couldn't hold on to anything and today I seem to have the ague. pelvis/hips and lower back constantly throbbing and no position is pain free.

Sister called today. we had a nice visit. I did get a couple loads of laundry and the oven cleaned yesterday. Had to make an emergency run to the farm as yaks were loose. one of the gates to the big pasture was open and evidently various members of the main herd did a "tour" around the houses and garden and then went back in. OTHER then Kleasor and Beary who where down with the young ones trying to join them. I got them into an adjoining paddock and locked them in. So I need to contact their buyer and let him know he can come and get them anytime. SINCE I don't have to try and separate them from the main herd any longer.
