Most of my live bearers slowly died off. I cannot keep them alive. So I went and got a few more angels and some loaches. Those thrive here.

Why type of snails?

Sorry to hear that. Didnt you just get them? They like this hard water.
They are gold apple /mystery snails. I had 2 and I put them together then I had 200. LOL

That's a lot of snails. A snail infestation is why I originally got some loaches.

I think I got them back in September for my birthday. We run our water through a softener, so that's probably why they don't last. I can't get straight well water as it's horrible. I guess I stick with what does well for me and my water. Goldfish do well for me too, and I like them.

I think it looked like a 20 gallon too. I can't stand snakes. I wouldn't have rats or mice here either. Just gerbils and hamsters. Like there's a difference?

That would be nice if its 20 tall. I really dislike those metal stands though.
Did you ever set your big tank up? was it 75? I could go crazy w/ one that big.

I like the metal stand that my turtle tank sits on. It's not flimsy like my other.
I've not got the 75 gallon set up yet. I need too soon. He escaped yesterday. Lucky he didn't get hurt.

Has your live bearers gave you any littles yet ? I sitting here watching 2 snails play tug o war w/ a green bean. Betta is refereeing.

I have 3 tiny ones and 2 older littles. I'm starting to see color coming

I like them too. Ya thats probably why they dont do good. Your treating them too good ! My angels are about silver dollor sized now. I still havent seen them pair off yet but there has been a little bickering.
I didnt know loaches would eat snails. There just little arent they? I bet I havent had 5 deaths from these snails. They got sucked up in the HOB filter.

well, $20.00 for a 20 gal. tank is perfect since it has everything w/ it. I didnt see gravel but I would of thrown that out anyway.
I cant believe you havent set that tank up ! I would of changed the decor 3xs by now. haha Im just gonna have to make a trip I guess.

There are different species of loaches ranging from around 4 inches to the clown loaches which can get up to 8 inches I believe. I personally like yoyo loaches. I found some golden loaches at petco that look just like the yoyo except for coloring. They love snails. Mine cleaned up my problems quickly. I still have one remaining one from 2004. They are long lived.
