Granny's gone and done it again

Some birds hate recovery lol
Chicken jail!

Yes...but right now they are just too clumsy, rough and aggressive with the girls. They need to calm down a little, and I don't know how long that takes.
How many hens do you have or will you have? When the boys mature, often one will take a submissive role and they will live in relative peace. Helps if you have 5-ish hens per rooster to keep the peace.

I have 8 hens and 2 pullets. I'm not allowing any cockerels in until the pullets are laying. Also, I need them to settle down a little. I would love to allow them both in, but I don't know if it will work with these two. It's a learning experience. I'll have to take it one step at a time. Wish I knew the exact right thing to do. I keep reading everything I can!!!

Thanks for your reply!!!

I didn't know you were from Washington. #2 looked at the university in Pullman, but Bozeman ended up being his choice. Now he tells me, it's not cold, mom, it's 33. It got into the 60s today, but we still felt cold. Hubs built a fire tonight. ahhh :)

That's so funny! In So Cal we only had electric fireplaces. :lau

I grew up on an old homestead house from early 1900s. Wood stove was the only heat in the house. Very cozy!
I was a city girl in SoCal. But, happy to have left that life!!! Would have preferred to grow up on a farm, like the one I visited in the summers. Aunt and uncle had a small farm and I spent many summers there. Should have been in their family. Would have loved it so much more than my cousins did. :lau
