It's important to know what type of mites they have. Go look in the coop after dark and shine a flashlight on the roosts to see if there are any tiny mites crawling there. Those would be red mites and you really need to focus on treating the coop as well as the bird. Red mites live and lay eggs in the coop. They come out at night to suck blood from the chickens. They can kill a bird pretty quickly.
If the mites are not on the roosts, they are probably northern fowl mites which live and lay eggs on the birds. Treat the birds first and then the coop.
GO NINERS!!!

I painted Toms toenails once while he was asleep. He was Not amused.Bubba really loves having his nails painted. DH used to tease (because he wasn’t comfortable with it) but he doesn’t care anymore. Bubba enjoys being involved in the spa fun, especially the foot bath and lotion.
Those might be lice. Treat the same as the northern fowl mites. Too big to be red mites. Glad you don't have them. They are evil.
ohh I think I know what your talking about. Its tiny bottles and a whole bunch of them. That’s not the cheap stuff! You can get good deals after holidays on those pre-made seasonal kits.
Try castor oil if you have it, better than Vaseline which only smothers the mites. Castor oil will not only smother them but improve the skin as well. Plus it doesn't glue every loose particle of everything to itself like Vaseline does.Vaseline
I read that he is correct less than half the time but is likely correct this year based on how much warmer than normal it has been in most places.punchy Phil didnt see his shadow today. early spring. LOL

Days are getting longer, the girls should start kicking into gear soon.sold another 10 boxes of eggs yesterday. I am about out, the hens need to quit slacking. 3 dozen eggs a day for a 100 plus hens isn't cutting it.

Nothing is free, there are always taxes or something to pay for whatever services you get. However having EVERYONE covered for health insurance regardless of their job, lack thereof or how much money they have is a far better system than what we suffer from here in the USA.
Twist already suggested my suggestion of a Ronald McDonald house. I would put in whatever effort is needed to see if you can find a place. You'll not be in decent shape for anything if you aren't sleeping in a bed.
I'm sorry Cap but![]()
It was 25°F this morning, been warmer than usual. I don't even bother with gloves if I'm just doing morning chicken and alpaca chores.
Better than great, cheaper than egg factory eggs in the stores here!
