Granny's gone and done it again

My feed store had some full grown serama roosters the other day...about 6 of them, they were so cute.
I didn't realize they were THAT small.
I don't think I want any of the small breeds though.

I'd have snapped them up in a flash!! :love

I remember you didn't want bantams, but I forget why

I just don't care much for the midget breed...they are precious but I worry about having them mixed with my big girls.
I don't have my second coop built yet....maybe I will start on one this summer! lol my DH is going to crap when he finds out a second coop is in the works in my head!
BUT after seeing in person the little seramas....I am quickly changing my mind.

I've got everything from under 1lb to over 5, and they do just fine together, cept for one incident.... That was my fault, integrated the Bantam pullets in with the flock too quickly, and an overly randy cockerel got ahold of her.

I think you'd love bantams, but I'm severely biased.

Im looking at Ideal's website now...
Basically I can order almost any breed as a bantam...
I could have little chickens that match my big chickens!
O M G that is so cute!

uh ho......someone laid a rubber egg!

On the floor of the coop too..
The new layers have been so good about going into a nest box...
I wish i could have seen who played this.
Im going to guess this is normal of a brand new layer.
I know they are feed all the right amounts of everything..so it just can not be food related.
Right?

Sometimes you get one off's with chicken eggs. Don't panic just yet. My girls have done random
Things like that. I think one even laid one off the roost one time - and they had been laying a while then.
