Granny's gone and done it again

It's tough losing loved ones, even knowing it's going to happen soon, but knowing they're at rest in a better place makes it a bit easier.

her pain is gone. I know I am facing this again soon with my husband. He is doing ok but not great. He is 25 yrs. older then I am. I just want to run and hide somewhere.

OH Twist, That temper.. It aint worth it. Come play ...

the day before she passed she was talking to someone all day . staring at a spot on the wall and she said, No, I believe I will wait just a little while longer. Those were her last words.
I see her everywhere in this house.
A few minutes before he drew his final breath, one of us told Dad that he'd be seeing Mom again soon. He said "I already have" I figure she must've come to escort him home. I tried standing by the bed to the last, but couldn't do it. I walked out to stand in the yard 'til they came & told me he was gone. My brother, his wife, my two sisters & DW were there with him at the end. All but DW lived out of the area, but I'd been with him every day for the last year & a half, and we'd already said our goodbyes, so, even though I was the oldest, I deferred to them.

I have heard that a lot of times about our loved ones coming to escort us home. Mom dreamed of a river where they stood on the other side waiting..

Quote: Sounds like she was ready and at peace with it. That's a good way to go.
Mom & Dad raised dogs even longer than I did, and had to put many of them down over the years. Mom didn't go that easily; the last words I heard her say were "Don't let them put me down". Talk about heart wrenching!
