I wonder where the 'bloom' is happening in Alabama.

All over! Even your county, 7 day moving average in Covington County is 54 new cases per day per 100K residents. Of course the smaller the population the worse one new case looks.

Im not supposed to have extra calcium. It goes straight into making my kidney stones.

That was the original thought so people (me included) were told to cut back on calcium. Now it turns out your body will pull calcium out of your bones if you don't get enough in your diet.

Last year by this time I was eating tomatoes from my garden. So far all I have are green ones.

Wow, that far south and none yet! It is normal for us not to see a ripe tomato before August.

Sounds beautiful. I love birds. I always wish I could fly like a bird. I love those silly turkey vultures. Hope that's what kind you have there. The black vultures can be nasty.


If you are relatively healthy, a short while in a thin mask won't hurt. I'm just glad I don't have to wear one all day long. Don't know how nurses do it!


Love the orb spiders! Haven't seen one in a few years.


I love the hummers... ferocious little beasties they are. We have a lot of CA towhees, they are pretty tame and don't let the Scrub jay family push them around too much. We have loads of little tiny birds, hard to tell what they are, but they have the most cheerful sweet songs.


I get no sugar Vitamin water. Some ice in the blender with some of that and I will be happy!


I have a picture of her somewhere. Just glad she didn't barf on me. That's a defense mechanism.

Don't like green ones. Way back I figured it was the pimientos until I had one with an onion in it and it still had that awful taste. Not fond of Kalamata olives either. The BEST olives are Grabers. We used to get a can in our stockings when I was a kid. Now I have to mail order them from California.


Um, pizza without black olives? Perish the thought!


Yeah and you complain about carrying too much weight!

Last year this tree barely put out anything and they were all bad.. No seed, or rotten seed inside.. I've been picking up what's been falling off the tree, and there are nice healthy nuts developing inside the 'shell' this year. Over the winter I threw ashes from the burn piles around the tree perimeter to provide potash, then fertilized all 3 trees in Mar, this month I limed not only the yard, but around the trees as well to prepare the soil for the last fertilizer application next month. I'm gonna have more nuts than I know what to do with.. but there is a market down the road that will take them. Got to save lots for 'friends' too!

I wont' know until it's time for them to be harvested. The one I have photos of has larger nuts on it, where as the one in the backyard produces smaller nuts, supposedly favored for pies and such.
