Size: 10mm long.

Found: Pond bottom

Eats: Dead plants and animals.

Eaten by: Fish, great diving beetle, large insect larvae.

Position in food chain: Primary consumer (herbivore)

Adaptations: 'Bloodworm' (red coloured) species have high level of iron (haemoglobin) in blood so it can breathe from the water with low oxygen levels, burrows into mud to hide from predators. Some species build case for protection.
Yeah, I know what they are. Eating blood worms makes them omnivores in my opinion .
