Granny's gone and done it again

:frow We're okay! None of the fires are close. Lots were started by the lightening, but we were fortunate to have rain in our area. Most were not that lucky. Got some ash falling tonight, but it's cold... no embers, no worry for now.

Good for him! What does he teach?
Music, vocals, choir, now music appreciation

He probably knows best. My DGD had a panic attack driving to work tonight and took herself to the ER on her counselor's advice. 😔 She will probably be in Behavioral Health for 2 or 3 days. Anxiety is nothing to mess around with.
St. John's Wort worked like a miracle. Might be worth a try, but it shouldn't be taken with most other medications.

Don't leave it under wraps too long without checking on it. Don't want mice making a home out of it.
He drives it at least once a month to the Buick club meeting. He's the VP now! More like an honorary grandson to the other members... they are all really good to him. :)

I had a single quail survive hatching this time. The first one that hatched got into the humidity well in the incubator and drowned. The last two had to be helped out of their eggs. One died soon after that. Well I couldn't leave it alone so I put it in with the banty chicks. You should see it cuddle up with them! And it runs circles around them, it's so fast!
And i have at least one and possibly two Large Fowl cochins that are broody. The broody polish is still on the nest.
I was watching my wild quail family out the kitchen window. Mama and Papa and about 10 "teenagers" investigating the patio. They all disapperaed around the corner of the house... probably at the water dish... and a hawk came from nowhere and swooped down toward them. I heard the papa alert and some flew off, but mostly I couldn't see what happened. I ran out and around the corner and the hawk took off fast. Couldn't make out if it was carrying anything. Then a little one suddenly took off from behind me. Made me jump! It had been hiding behind the water dish.
I think the hawk came up empty because there were no feathers anywhere. Those parents have done a good job with their littles. Started with 10 tiny babies weeks ago and they all seem to have survived.
