I was watching the hurricane on the news and was thinking how glad I am that you are are so far north now.Morning all. Cleaning today and getting ready for our guests from the south. Trying not to think about how hard the camp will be hit. ☹

Wow, good thing you were there to help him, but dang, he must be taking barfing lessons from my cat! Not the sofa!!Another one here today too. Yesterday afternoon my Kid (13 yo GS) was helping an old guy unload 2 ranks of firewood from his truck, came staggering in, puked all over the couch and collapsed on the floor. I realized he was in heat distress so I had his sister bring me cold washcloths, put them on his neck, face and wrists, got his shirt off him and got him cooled off. After a bit he could sip water and GatorAde and he was okay. Scared me good though! Yikes! It was 97°F heat index, 93 actual and 76% humidity, I believe.
Glad he is okay, and such a good kid to be helping like that.
Gotta love that torture chamber. notHad a short nap, then made meatballs. Soon I get to make salad. Woo hoo!
major ugh. Hug your AC!96 feels like 116 .
Had a very smoky day yesterday. Even with the good mask on I was struggling. Today has been pretty darn clear. It's still hazy and I know there's smoke in the air, but not enough to smell it except for a few hours this afternoon. I even did some laundry this morning! yay for clean clothes that don't smell like smoke.
We are having cooler nights and fog at the coast and reinforcements finally arrived so the firefighters have been able to make some progress containing the fire closest to us. They have even changed some of the mandatory evacuation zones to warning status, and lots of peeps got to return to their homes. It's all good news, even though the fire will be with us for some time yet... unless we can get a chunk of camping's hurricane.
