@prostar, it has been a real trip and not for the faint of heart, that is for sure. Between discovering that they think that our 5 cats are chew toys (what do you expect when they are playing tug of war with a rabbit when you find them) and getting chewed up by trying to break up a couple of sibling rivalry fights we occasionally look at one another and wonder if we are still in our right minds.
They are 21 months old now and yes, coming along nicely in spite of all the challenges. Some of the same sex fighting is dying off (spay and neuter helps that? Really? I don't think the cattle dogs read that chapter) and I have to admit that they are a riot when we turn them out in their yard in the morning and the first thing they do is turn their noses up and howl back at the local coyotes.
Mess with us? I don't think so!
Hi everyone. Busy day here. They delivered our new door today. Now getting it installed will be the neat challenge. Our house was built with green oak lumber. Green oak is HARD when it cures and dries. Solid as a rock but everything needs to be predrilled. Then there is the fact that the Amish guy who built our house must have missed a few chapters in the Amish Construction handbook because we never know what surprises await us when we tear into a wall.
Fun today. I gave the chicks a grasshopper. Yep, a rousing game of Grasshopper Keep Away ensued, always chuckleatious to watch!
