Granny's gone and done it again

I dropped kids off at school and couldn't sign on quick enough to see if there was an update about Bandit.
I hope he made it through the night.

Jane...ya'll were in the hospital for a good long while huh.
I bet you are very glad to be home.
How are your chickens?

Morning Lady!

Tomorrow is my baby's 7th bday.
I have to go buy 17 cupcakes for his class...plus he wants to give one to each of the 1st grade teachers, there are 6 plus 2 assistants of them. So I will need 25 total.
I never buy cupcakes....But I think they sell them in 12 count packages....Im going to have to buy three?? What! But my boy doesn't even eat them so maybe I could just buy 2 packages and not give him one? Just doesn't sound good.

Im going to go eat lunch (brunch) with him at 10:40, so I will have to go hunt down some store bought/packaged cupcakes to bring.
We aren't allowed to bring any home made food..has to be store bought in original package.

I am bringing a dozen eggs for his teacher from last year..she is the sweetest thing.
I want to type up a little note to attach to the package....FUN EGG FACTS that regular people don't know.

I need some help...

What can I write???

Eggs are laid with a special bloom which prevents nasty stuff getting into the egg.
...stuff like this ^^ but worded better

People LOVE the "there are only blue and white eggs" one.

Hang on and I'll write up my "eggs facts" that I do during the summer!

She is a kindergarten teacher and on Fridays she always have Fun Food Facts, so this is perfect for her to teach about and show "real" colorful eggs!

Eggs are laid in a 24-26 hour cycle, so one egg a day! (Check that one)

The yolk is NOT the embryo! It's just nutrients for the baby, which develops from the blastoderm- the little white dot on the egg.

Grocery store eggs aren't fertile. They'll never ever hatch.

Fertile farm eggs won't turn into babies unless they're held consistently at a temp of 98-101 degrees. So if eggs are gathered every day, you'll never crack one open and find a baby.

A human isn't hot enough to hatch a chicken egg!

It takes 21 days for an egg to develop a chick.

great!! thanks.. I need to shorten this info up....
Blue Eggs – The blue color is created by oocyanin, which is applied early in the laying process. The blue pigment goes right through the shell, unlike the brown pigment. So blue eggs are blue inside and out.

Brown Eggs – The brown egg layers, possess brown pigment genes and a brown ‘dye’ is applied (by the hen of course!) to the eggshell fairly late in the laying process; around the last 4-6 hours of the total 26 hours it takes to form the egg. This results in a brown-shelled egg. Interestingly, the inside of a brown egg is always white – the brown dye doesn’t penetrate the shell, leaving the inside the original color.

Because processed and factory made food is SOOOOOOO much healthier and tastes better then homemade.
