Yes to the stones. Had gall bladder removed in 2000. Since then I've had issues with sludge and stones in my common bile duct. I had an emergency ERCP (?) a few years back, leading to the sepsis a month later. Most recently I had a stent installed and later removed, but I can feel it clogging up again. It's kind of chronic, and a whole lot of not much fun. .
