Granny's gone and done it again

The brooder is setup. I still have to tape the holes and put a light up for the quail in their brooder.

A few advice questions:
1. How often do you change out the wood chips in there?
2. How would You change out the chips, because I’ve been wondering how I would do that. I’m using a watermelon box as a brooder next year as well but idk how I’m gonna empty out and switch out the chips
3. How many chips do you use each time?

1— Probably once a week or so. Or whenever it starts to look all dirty.
2— I have puppy pads underneath the chips so I can sort of roll them up and then scoop out the rest.
3— Just enough to cover the bottom.

I use puppy pads under the pine pellets in my brooders as well. Makes clean up so much easier!
