Granny's gone and done it again

How do you pick your breeding males? Is it easy to tell which males are amorous Lotharios?
I think I may have made a mistake when I was putting them into a different cage. Might have accidently put 6 girls in there and no males. Going to check tomorrow. But those girls sure do love to lay eggs. LOL. IF bad comes to worse, I will put my extra whitewing in there.

oops !

Not enough. Back of my head, neck and shoulders are aching tonight.
Dang torture chamber.

He's almost back to normal. Racing up the path ahead of me, coercing people to play. He's sleeping more than usual. Maybe that time of year.
aww thats sweet.
I tell yall stay away from that torture chamber !

Torture chambers are made for short people. You are forever bending to use the sink and counters are normally a coupe inches out of reach. You should do what Twist did to his counter tops and it would help your back then get some antifatigue mats to stand on.

While back I was following a breeder's thread and the old timers were talking about everyone wanting docile roosters, but in their view, docile roosters were not great breeders and did not get chosen for the breeding program.
Is it similar for your quail males?

Kinda sorta. When you have the growout pen full of males, after they have started crowing. You watch for the one that trys to mount the others. LOL. THAT is a good breeder. A loud crower, and a mounter.

ohh I figured out why Meg&Dawn are breeding so much and the others are not. Its their water temps. I have the best heater in their tank set to 80 and the others are not that warm. I just need to lower that one and they should stop.
