Don't think it would have worked with a large hen. And certainly would have been worse in summer, with the longer days and evil flies.
Also, Fudge is a tough nut. Ornery as heck. We have bonded, though. Can't pay that much attention to another's backside without forming a special relationship!

oh I cant remember the time of year but I kept her in the house in a dog crate. LOL

So I have the attic "door" open and a space heater down by where I think the pipe is frozen , Figure I am insured for fire and NO plumber will "thaw out pipes" any more.
