Granny's gone and done it again

I think the my GSDs previous problem with apartment living was lack of exercise. He had stress issues which came out by his chewing the fur off his front ankles. Now he has 50 acres to play on.
That mutt rescue I previously mentioned did have issues like many rescues. For her whole life, 14 years, she was terrified of hoses - garden hoses, vacuum hoses. Wish they could talk about why instead I accommodated this fear and never put her in a position where she felt a hose was going to get her.

Awh, what a unusual fear. How old was she when you got her? Mine was 8wks old when we brought him home, he was born at the shelter. He never was exposed to anything bad, he is just genetically anxious, and sometimes agressive with other dogs.
Wasn’t properly socialized

I hope to one day grow up and be a professional trainer. I do agility with my dog right now. We're not national quality, but he's fast and pretty accurate. He's 8 years old march 13th! Hasn't slowed down a bit.

Adopted him in 2013. All the dogs I've remembered owning have been mutts, great dogs, but they've all had behavior issues, common in rescues. Their genetics are everywhere. I'd really like at least one stable, well tempered dog (it makes all the difference) , and then I'll probably go back to rescue dogs. I love them <3

GSDs (and most dogs) can do well in Apartments if their owners spend time walking them.. but most people don't. Its sad, really.
I do rally, obedience conformation and dabble in agility.

What a grand assumption from somebody who doesn't know anything about me or my dog. He was socialized. he went everywhere with me. everything from a young age was fun, meet a new person? treats and play, oh so fun. I closely followed Ian Dunbar's approach to training.

His genetic predisposition to anxiousness is like a collies genetic predisposition to herd. Unstoppable... Manageable.. but unstoppable

 this one? It's still there.
Oh yes, but I want it as a choice for when you "like" a post.

Ohh, to the dog breeders, what do you breed?

I heard some talk of poodles, poodles are my favorite breed.
I think he's got poodle. He was a stray.
Scooter says hi!

Chameleons have a lot of personality if you get a good one.
That's my favorite reptile! They are so cool. Seems like a lot to take care of properly.

Oh, PWDS are supposed to be a lot like poodles. I looked into them for awhile :)

I like Spaniels, I almost ended up with a Blue Picardy, But I dont think I like shedding..
I met several of h2oratts' dogs last week. I think they are like poodles on steroids... a little more muscular, little more active. Very nice dogs. But too much hair for me. Scooter is my first and last long haired dog. I am looking into Whippets!
