Granny's gone and done it again

What a grand assumption from somebody who doesn't know anything about me or my dog. He was socialized. he went everywhere with me. everything from a young age was fun, meet a new person? treats and play, oh so fun. I closely followed Ian Dunbar's approach to training.

His genetic predisposition to anxiousness is like a collies genetic predisposition to herd. Unstoppable... Manageable.. but unstoppable

Do you have any idea how well they socialized him at the shelter? My pups start meeting new people at 5 weeks.
It is definitely also genetic.

I'd take a PWD for sports any day ... maybe not for a pet owner, but dock diving with a PWD sounds like fun.. I couldn't see the first photo of your dog, but I saw the second. Very cute!

Well, they had spent a couple hours in travel kennels, sniffing all sorts of doggy love smells... I think they did really good. Tuna was great . You should see Scooter when he gets around big dogs. Like the Hulk... he turns into a Rottweiler!

Is he aggressive? My dog as a kid was aggressive. He was dumped at the county fair. Prob only 5 weeks old. I knew nothing about socializing.

I think the my GSDs previous problem with apartment living was lack of exercise. He had stress issues which came out by his chewing the fur off his front ankles. Now he has 50 acres to play on.
That mutt rescue I previously mentioned did have issues like many rescues. For her whole life, 14 years, she was terrified of hoses - garden hoses, vacuum hoses. Wish they could talk about why instead I accommodated this fear and never put her in a position where she felt a hose was going to get her.

Did he stop chewing on his ankles?

Prob was corrected by squirted with hose. The dog I got back last year doesn’t like the hose.
