Granny's gone and done it again

young but I will guess 6-7 yrs..

Today my daughter couldn't find her after school. GD had gone with another little girl and her dad to the book fair. She talked the girls dad into buying her a book and a spy pen. I had just taken her the day before and bought her a book and a spypen. My daughter was upset she couldn't find her. Finally found her in the office. She is in first grade.

That doesn't sound like anything too far from a normal 1st grader. Stern talking to and some big consequences should make an impression- like the book and spy pen get returned. The problem with situations like that, is little kids don't always generalize rules to all situations. Unless she broke a rule that was very clear to her, you can't be too tough on her. Book fairs are a huge temptation!

I agree. I don't think the father should have bought her anything. But he was just being nice. I would like to know what she told him. I agree the book and pen should be taken away. GD knew her mom would be outside waiting for her.
