Dont you have a scrappy dog like Bandit ? His beard is a mess.
I dont want to cut his beard because thats what I pull to cut the hair out of his eyes.

Scooter is a poodle cross or something. His hair grows pretty long. I haven't trimmed him for a couple of months and he's a mess. He gets mats around his mouth and hates me messing with it, but I do it anyway. We have epic grooming battles.
Before the battle...
after the battle... He looks better than me!

Sometimes you can cut up through a mat and then comb it out. (cut along the direction the hair grows) That way you don't lose all the long hair.
hahaha he is so stinking cute ! Is that all scissor cut ? I probably shouldnt handle scissors .Scooter is a poodle cross or something. His hair grows pretty long. pups beard is always wet and all he wants to do is rest it on me. canned food is a real mess. Wonder if it would get long enough to braid? He snores and farts louded then any dog I know. I asked vet about the rest of his shots and he just said no. What is that supposed to mean ?
He was probably talking just about the parvo shots. Rabies and distemper are the other ones we worry about. And heart worm, but yours are indoors more than mine, so probably not such a risk. Bandit sounds like a teenage boy!
I only cut with scissors. No way I could hold him and use clippers, even if I had clippers!

Yeah, Scooter just about kills me. It helps to have someone hold him. You are supposed to wash the dog before using clippers so the dirt doesn't dull them. I can't do both bathing and grooming in one day for him, so I stick with scissors.
