I got a 10 gallon tank last night, I forgot to tell you guys. Since I don't have any live plants I'm not leaving it to cycle, but did leave it for 24 hours to rest and im picking up my fish in a little bit!

Well you should run it for a while anyway before you get fish.

Its hard to cycle a tank w/o a fish or a snail works.
Avary, are you getting just one fish? If your getting a betta you could add a snail first and wait a week or so before adding the fish. It will start to make the good bacteria the filter pad needs but sometimes the fish store will give you a piece of their dirty filters that will be already loaded with the good stuff.
