Yeah...same. Its good to hear that others like cetaphil. Others in my family are great with other lotion brands, my skin was pretty sensitive from the beginning. I grew up with Cetaphil and Aveeno (not sure if they still sell it anymore).

Oh! I forgot to update you! A week ago, I took my dog to the park again with my family (we loke to go there to eat). We went in to the smaller enclosed area to stay away from other dogs for the most part and to eat. We chose the hottest time of day to go as well because less dogs go there during that time. I kept an eye on the gate and was cautious when a dog came in. Kiki did better than I expected. She sniffed the dogs butt, the dog sniffed her butt, she was pretty good. She wasnt afraid at all, but I feel like it depends on the dogs that come in also. 3 dogs came in that day. She did great with all of them, but barked slightly when the 2nd dog came in. I tried to treat her (with pets and speech) when a dog was coming in using "good girl!" and "uh-uhh" when she got a little out of hand. She is pretty used to not using treats, I do sometimes, but I mostly dont use treats.

Cool! Timing is everything. Be sure you say Good Girl when she is NOT acting apprehensive, but is acting neutral, confident or friendly, or after the other dog has left, assuming it was an uneventful encounter. Often, just being quiet and neutral yourself is good, so the two dogs can just encounter each other without distracting input from the humans. Praising afterward, to let her know she did well, can be very reinforcing.

My feeling about treats is that they are totally unnecessary. The best treats in the world to your dog are: your Praise Phrase, your Happy Face, and above all, Your Loving Hands. I call these three the Praise Value Menu. You always have them with you! Just say Good Boy (or Girl) and watch your dog light up. Give him eye contact and a big, toothy smile and see how happy he is. Get hands on him and ruffle his ears for a second and he'll be ecstatic! Happiest dog in the world!

No need for treats. They're just a distraction. The pet stores promote training with treats because they are a money-maker for them, not because they work.
