Rooster is still alive. Maybe slightly better, but not much.

Not sure about that. He was back to shaking his head and preening frantically. He got warm soapy bath and is wrapped in towels sleeping on my lap. Poor guy.
No sign of any lice or mites anywhere.

If you get bite by fleas even though their gone you will still itch for a couple days after. Maybe its the same for him.
