When you set up a PayPal account, they will do that to verify that your account exists, or also if you set up an automatic withdrawal. DH works at a bank and explained this to me. Did you do either of these recently?

Yup, I know they are native to CA (and the state flower there) but I have also grown them in NM so was hoping to try them here. I would save the seeds and sow them next spring and see how they do. I do have a good sunny spot I'd like to try them on.

I will send you some. I didn't get a huge amount because I left the container slightly ajar to prevent mold, and when the pods popped, I lost a lot of seeds. I've never harvested pods before, so hoping I got them mature enough to be viable. They turn brown fast here, and then kapow!

I bought a few things at Walmart today and my card got rejected. Several times. I had an attendant help me and she even tried another register and it still wouldn't go through. I had to use my secondary account, the one I have for emergencies only, like if I were to lose my main card. Called DH and let him know immediately. He called the company and had them look into it. Everything checked out okay. But that has never happened before. Worrisome.
