Granny's gone and done it again

Im going to venture out here and say anyone who feeds their hens good and only gives the roos garbage shouldnt be allowed to keep them. If you have roos for mating they need to be in just as good of shape as the hens do. If you are planning on eating them you want them healthy. Dont make sense to me.

This is what the government says is "in" a potato...to me it doesn't sound like it would be "bad" for a chicken

I agree.
I also believe that the more fresh raw fruits and veggies I feed me birds the better....
So when I get meat birds I will ferment a complete feed mash for them but I will also feed them some good "veggies/fruits" daily.
I still have a lot of reading to do but I'm beginning to wonder if I could feed them most of these "real" foods and less of the mixed up stuff...
hmmm.

they mention they pay $25 per 50 lb bag of layer feed....doesn't that seem really high or am I getting a really good deal for 13.00?

What does everyone here pay for a 50lb bag of layer pellets/crumbles'feed?

I don't feed layer but I pay about $16-$17 for a 50lb bag of chicken feed for all.

$16.00 for flock raiser today and $13.00 for chick starter. They must be buying organic . That is costly.
Best diet IMO you can feed your chickens is free range. I dont do this anymore because I was losing too many .

Are you going nuts over the eggs in the gator yet?
